These 2 tools are very interesting. I have used Skype before, talking with family members in other states. It is a great tool that is used to see and be seen by the person or persons you are talking with! It is an awesome way to keep families connected.
I have never used it in a classroom setting, but can see how it would be a wonderful tool there, too! Besides the obvious use of communicating with other classrooms around your city, state, country, or world, another way it could be used is to have a conference with an author your class is studying. Also with the budget cuts that are taking away many extras in school, using Skype to take a "field trip" is a great solution.
I have never used Jing before, or even heard of it. In learning about it, I see that it is used to capture different parts of screens that can be used to make movies or videos. It will help teachers to focus children on specific learning points that need to be learned about any topic. I think this will also cut down in "teacher time" and be motivating for the kids.
